Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing your expertise in estimating and project management. The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in bidding processes, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Candidates should have a strong background in construction estimating, negotiation skills, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Utilize Bluebeam for markup and review of project plans and documentation.
- Use HeavyBid or similar software for bid preparation and management.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
- Develop accurate project budgets and assist in bid submission processes.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning.
- Monitor market trends,
material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive yet profitable bids.
- Support project management teams during project execution by providing cost control insights.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for plan markup and review.
- Skilled in negotiation to secure favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Experience with project management principles related to construction projects.
- Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software tools.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
