Hi! I’m Karli, a mobility Disabled adult and wheelchair user… who outsources her muscles in order to survive and thrive. I currently live in the Edmonton area (Beaumont) and work as a freelance writer, multimedia personality, and consultant.

Are you a reliable adult with a moderate amount of muscles to outsource in need of a new and groovy job?

Sweet — I’m currently looking for 2-3 additional PCAs to join my care team. Successful candidates are responsible, reliable(!!!), & fun folks who encourage my independence, ensuring to respect my household and requests. NO EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED!

If you’re interested in working for me but worried you’re not qualified, please don’t be discouraged! I prioritize an equitable hiring process with nontraditional career paths—and that includes honouring all lived experiences. Previous experience in this field isn’t necessary, as most of the tasks I need performed day-to-day you already do for yourself (like getting dressed) and I’ll provide ongoing, PAID training for everything else!

What does a Personal Care Assistant do?

Basically,



my PCAs help me live (comfortably and efficiently) whilst preserving my dignity. Much like your personal life, every shift is a mix of routine and improv.

This may include:

✧ personal care (hygiene, showering, washroom trips, dressing, feeding, transferring/positioning, etc.)

✧ cooking/meal prep

✧ homemaking/organization

✧ cool stuff related to my freelance gigs

✧ accompanying me on outings—or quiet nights in with snacks + tv

✧ other ordinary (& sometimes extraordinary!) human activities

Qualities of a successful candidate

✧ punctual and reliable (I can’t emphasize this part enough!)

✧ detail-oriented

✧ willingness to learn and take direction

✧ critical thinker

✧ BONUS: possesses cooking and/or makeup skills!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
