Central Zone is the second largest health zone in Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people (17 per cent of the province’s population) living in 176 communities. Central Zone is seeking the services of a full-time double coverage ER physician at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Center in Gander, NL.



The successful applicant will work within the department for one of two 8-hour double coverage shifts (8am-4pm, 4pm-midnight). The Double coverage physician may be responsible for provision of virtual care during times of double coverage (8am-midnight).

QUALIFICATIONS

- Eligible for licensure as a Family Medicine Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) Home - CPSNL
- Special competency in Emergency Medicine is not required but favorable for this position.
- Satisfy credentialing requirements of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

HOURS OF WORK
8hr shifts (8:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm to midnight)

REMUNERATION
Fee for Service at Category A hourly rate (Sessional) as per the MCP payment schedule - Approximately $232.00 per hour.

AVALIABLE INCENTIVES
Physician Signing Bonus $150,000 with $25,000 top up
Come Home Incentive - $100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
