Bakery Opener + Prep Support

TurF is a three-in-one studio, bistro, and retail store in Kitsilano. We bring a conscious sweat, a considered menu, and a thoughtful assortment of things we love. Our bakery is mainly plant-based and in our kitchen, “positive” means whole, humane and non-processed. It means we always source from local suppliers first, and choose organic only when it makes sense.

We are looking for a reliable, passionate and motivated person to join our kitchen team!

Duties & Responsibilities include:
6AM starts *MUST HAVE A RELIABLE COMMUTE TO WORK
Baking daily offerings (muffins, scones, cornbread etc.)
Setting baked items out for display in the bakery case
Preparing and packaging grab and go breakfast items
Responsible for following standardized recipes + baking instructions
Ensures correct use, storage, and cleaning of all kitchen equipment
Responsible for working in a clean, and organized manner
Complies with local food safety regulations
Responsible for opening & closing duties which include cleaning, organizing, and weekly/monthly kitchen maintenance projects

The finer print:




Start time is 6AM! Please only inquire if this is available to you.
5 shifts a week: Sunday - Thursday (Friday, Saturday off).
1+ years of experience in a bakery or food preparation role is an asset but not necessary
Has a passion for baking, team work and early morning's
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Must be able to lift heavy objects, 25 kg or 50 lb, from the ground to a table

Salary: Starting at $18.50per hour
