The Calgary Winter Club is looking for a high energy, customer service driven, outgoing individual to join our Fitness Consultant Team in both a part and full time position. The successful candidate must be able to work morning, and evening shifts ranging from 12-18 hours/week. The Fitness Consultant is responsible for supporting members by addressing inquiries, promoting a safe and clean fitness environment, and carrying out a range of essential duties, including:
Requirements
- Monitor member activity and ensure adherence to facility rules, safety protocols, and appropriate behavior.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the fitness floor, ensuring all equipment meets safety standards and is in proper working order.
- Provide general, specific, and technical exercise and fitness guidance to members on the fitness floor.
- Assist members with exercises, including spotting during lifts.
- Comfortably lift weights and equipment exceeding 50 lbs.
- General knowledge of gym equipment types and functions.
- Support front desk operations and assist the Fitness Manager and Supervisor with daily tasks.
- Conduct fitness orientations and facility tours for new members.
- Assist with studio setup and takedown for fitness classes and special events.
· Support Program Supervisors with daily operational tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of registered and drop-in classes, including printing attendance lists, processing drop-in participants, responding to member inquiries, maintaining studio supplies (e.g., towels and spray bottles), and assisting members with program registration, cancellation, and navigation.
Qualifications
· Ability to work independently, cohesively and supportively in a team environment
· Experience working with Microsoft office software (word, excel, and outlook)
· Diploma or Degree in Personal Training, Kinesiology or other related field
· CPR (recertified every year) and Standard Fist Aid (recertified every three years)
· Additional certification and evidence of continuing education are an asset, such as:
· CSEP – Certified Personal Trainer or Certified Exercise Physiologist
· CSCS – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
· NCCP Olympic Weightlifting, Kettlebell, TRX, etc.
