Pakenham Community Early Learning Centre is seeking a full time Program Supervisor who has a passion and deep commitment to the caring and education of young children. This position supports the daily operations of the centre, ensuring that programs meet all licensing standards while reflecting our commitment to high‑quality early learning. The Program Supervisor collaborates closely with educators to inspire best practices, strengthen curriculum implementation, and foster a culture of warmth, professionalism, and continuous growth. With a balance of administrative oversight and hands‑on support, the Program Supervisor helps ensure our centre runs smoothly while nurturing a positive, collaborative environment for children, families, and staff.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing of the College of ECE
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate, including Infant/Child CPR
- Thorough knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
- A minimum four (4) years supervisory experience
- Knowledgeable on CWELCC and CCLS
Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide orientation, direction, and supervision to all staff, students, and volunteers
- Ensure all educators provide a play-based and developmentally appropriate environment
- Provide direction to staff in the absence of the Executive Director, assuming delegated tasks
- Manage conflict concerns and resolution with staff and parents
- Ensure documentation of children’s development is completed and shared with families on a regular basis
Administration
- Ensure Ministry of Education requirements are adhered to throughout the programs.
- Be able to access and fulfill funding grant requirements.
- Work with the Executive Director to document educator performance and conduct annual performance reviews for all educators.
- Assist with planning and delivery of monthly staff meetings
- Ensure Lanark County Quality Assurance program is being followed and documented
- Work with ED to bring new children on board
- Reach out to families for major turnout for September
- Ensure positive ongoing communication with parents through meetings, welcome letters, and social events
- Complete and record daily and monthly inspections of the facility and playground
Compliance with Policy and Procedures
- Ensure the program policies and procedures, as well as the day-to-day operation, are in accordance with the regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act.
- Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the PCELC.
- Follow all Public Health, Health & Safety, and Fire Department recommendations.
- Ensure the children’s setting is healthy and safe.
- Follow the centre’s procedures for maintaining health records, hygienic routines, universal precautions, and administering medication and first aid.
- Report all accidents, injuries, and illnesses to the Executive Director.
- Make sure all appropriate paperwork and steps are followed following an accident or injury to a child.
- Monitor the indoor and outdoor environments for hazards.
- Update daily on children’s allergies and other special conditions.
- Report all incidents of suspected child maltreatment.
- Release children only persons authorized by the parents/guardians.
Personal Efficacy and Development
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Create a personal professional development plan.
- Attend two professional development opportunities per year; implement and share resources obtained.
- Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude.
- Participate in all staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre’s children, families, and staff.
- Participate in the annual performance review process.
- Keep up-to-date with early childhood education and advocacy developments.
Relationships
Internal
o Reports to the Executive Director / Board of Directors, President
▪ Maintains positive working relationships with: Executive Director, Centre staff, other program and administrative staff
External
o Maintains positive working relationships with: Ministry of Education, Lanark County Child Care Service Providers, Lanark Early Learning and Child Care Association, (LELCCA), Quality Assurance Coordinator, Children’s Aid Society, Health Unit, Fire Department, School Boards, Suppliers, Playground Inspectors, Parents of Centre, Children, Open Doors, Lanark Community Programs, Language Express, Ontario Early Years Centre
▪ Representing the Centre in a professional manner
▪ Representing and promoting the Centre in the community
▪ Keeping abreast of current trends in Early Childhood Education and their applications in the Centre
▪ Ensuring the professional development requirements of all staff are met by taking advantage of opportunities in the community, as well as providing in-service training for staff
▪ Linking with other agencies in the community in a positive way (schools, public health, clinicians, etc.)
▪ Advocating for young children and their families
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28.39 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Pakenham, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- childcare supervising: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Vulnerable Sector Check less than 6 months old (preferred)
- Standard First Aid/CPR -C (preferred)
- membership in good standing with the College of ECE's (required)
