Job Overview
nAlberta Health Services (AHS) is recruiting a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Family Medicine Unit at Leduc Community Hospital, situated 20 minutes south of Edmonton. The role involves advocating, coordinating, and serving as a liaison for patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Advocate, coordinate, and liaise for patients, identifying needs and setting priorities with the multidisciplinary team.
n
- Participate in nursing assessment and interventions, care planning, and implementation of prescribed treatments.
n
- Administer medications and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
n
- Document and monitor treatment progress and patient response.
n
- Engage in quality monitoring activities.
n
- Facilitate patient and family‑centered education and discharge planning in line with AHS standards, values, policies, and procedures.
n
- Work within the identified scope of practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
n
- Practice according to AHS policy and procedures, maintain competent practice, and provide care per CLPNA regulations.

Description
nAs an LPN, you will be part of an interprofessional health care team, employing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving,
and decision‑making skills. Your role will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high‑quality, patient and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.n
Required Qualifications
nn
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
n
- Active registration or eligibility for a License Practical Nurse practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
n
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP).
n
n
Additional Qualifications
nn
- Experience with the CoACT framework and Connect Care preferred.
n
- Experience caring for medical, post‑operative surgical, and orthopedic patients desired.
n
- ACLS experience favored.
n
- IV Therapy and PICC certification preferred.
n
n
