Position Overview Responsible to assist with the operation of City of Vaughan facilities; performs special event set-up and tear-down, and custodial duties ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standards and are protected, clean and functional.

Responsibilities Facility Attendant Function:

n

- Assists Facility Operators with maintaining facilities in a safe, clean and functional condition.
- Completes work as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor, Facility Operations Coordinator, or Facility Operators.
- Performs regular, ongoing maintenance and janitorial duties as required throughout the facilities including responding to various cleaning requirements as they arise.
- Completes setups and tear- downs for programs,



activities and events scheduled in various areas of the facilities ensuring that all requirements are met.
- Assists with security of the facilities and that operations meet or exceed all regulations, acts and by-laws.
- Provides quality customer service and delivery to all patrons using the facilities.

- Performs other duties related to the position, as assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the corporate Occupational Health and Safety Policy and related procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

n
- Possesses a Secondary School Diploma, or suitable equivalent or in the process of obtaining.
- Have a working knowledge of janitorial/cleaning work methods.
- Demonstrated ability in the safe operation of related janitorial equipment (ie. Mop, broom cleaning products, hand tools, vacuum, shovel, personal protective equipment, etc.) • Able to deal courteously and effectively with staff and the general public.
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours including evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts.
- ORFA Basic Refrigeration and/or Certified Pool Operator Certificate considered an asset.
- Successful candidate(s) will be required to submit a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Check from an accredited police service prior to commencing employment.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
