About this Opportunity:
As a valued team member, you will be part of a small growing team of capable Technicians responsible for the day-to-day repairs of our fleet. The main responsibility of the technician will be preventative and corrective maintenance services of the company fleet of equipment and vehicles. As a technician you will be required to inspect, accurately diagnose and repair a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles. These units range from loaders and excavators, to triaxles, trailers, air compressors and welders. The successful candidate will be capable of working under limited supervision, determining required repair, ordering parts with accuracy and completing the repairs as efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and vehicles, including loaders, shovels, dozers, trucks, booms, and other fleet equipment, in both shop and field environments.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment and vehicles.
- Safely operate heavy equipment, vehicles, and a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Clean and prepare equipment prior to repairs.
- Complete work orders, maintenance reports, and parts requests accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate service records and follow detailed instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of the shop and work areas.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Support additional tasks and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician License (Ontario) or Red Seal required; accomplished 4th-year apprentices or 310T Truck and Coach Technician License will also be considered
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in heavy equipment or construction industry.
- Valid G License (D would be an asset).
- Clean CVOR Drivers Abstract.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and follow detailed instructions.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to meet scheduling demands, including flexible schedule, overtime, evenings, weekends, and on-call as required
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including working in varying weather conditions and handling physically demanding tasks.
- Effective communication and listening skills.
- Effective time management skills allowing for efficient production.
