Overview of Position:
We are looking for a Construction Superintendent to join our team who will be responsible for leading and overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with drawings and specifications. This role drives daily field operations through strong leadership, planning, coordination, and safety oversight.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-site oversight of the installation of modular buildings. Including the installation of foundations, placing of buildings, completing of structural framing, architectural finishes, and accessories.
This position will involve travel to job sites within Canada, with a typical rotation of 21 days on and 7 off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate and supervise all construction activities and subcontractors.
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and management to determine budgets and timelines.
- Track project costs daily and review against the project budget.
- Review and update schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow with the Project Manager.
- Prepare progress reports and issue schedule updates to clients.
- Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment with vendors.
- Maintain detailed documentation including daily logs, expense reports, and progress tracking.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimize delays and claims.
- Implement efficient, cost-effective construction techniques and strategies.
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings and attend on-site coordination meetings.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to site staff, ensuring alignment with company safety culture and core values.
- Enforce protected work practices in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, progress reports, rental records, and site logs.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of construction safety regulations and policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience within a supervisory role working on commercial and residential building sites.
- 10+ years of experience within the construction industry.
- Experience with Modular / Pre-Eng buildings would be an asset.
- Proven experience supervising construction projects from start to completion.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to solve problems, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read building specifications, blueprints, and as-builds
- Ability to layout, frame, and finish on typical projects
- Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details to team members, and others.

Work conditions:
Travel: Typical Shift is 21 days on 7 days off rotation (subject to change), ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours.
