This includes a competitive base salary aligned with the relevant market and resultsbased variable compensation that rewards performance.
Our salary range for this role is $87,000 - $117,000, reflecting the anticipated base salary for a fully qualified candidate at the time of posting.
Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.

Employee and Family Assistance Program Position Summary Reporting to the Canadian HSE Director; the Oshawa HSE Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of Health and Safety, and Environmental programs within the Oshawa and USA Installations Operations.
The Oshawa HSE Manager will participate in cross functional teams to drive safety, continuous improvement, waste reduction, and environmental sustainability.
The Oshawa HSE Manager provides guidance to the organization from policy creation to operational HSE plans and implementation.
This role is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the HSE team.
The Oshawa HSE Manager will ensure that all Oshawa facilities as well as the USA installations operations are following applicable Federal, State/provincial, and Municipal EHS regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: Ensures HSE team delivers agreed-upon results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, using the P+ Prysmian, People, Performance process; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures with the assistance of the Human Resources (HR) Dept. and approved policies & procedures.
Recommends merit increases and administers approved bonus structure for the HSE Department as per approved procedures.
Strategic Planning: Working with the mission and goals, designs, revises, implements, and continuously evaluates HSE goals and strategies to ensure they support the overall goals and meet customer and legislative requirements.
Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures utilizing Risk Rank down to improve corporate HSE performance.
Health & Safety, and Workplace (HSE) and Integrated Management System Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for HSE.
Review and analyze HSE data and create action steps to drive improved performance.
Promote and raise global awareness of the impact of changing HSE requirements, whether legislated or best practices, on corporate responsibility.
Develop and implement HSE management systems, processes, and procedures that improve business operations in accordance with ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 as well as the Prysmian HSE management systems for NA operations.
Keep up to date with changes in HSE legislation, international standards, and best practice initiatives.
Conduct risk assessments to identify, assess, and reduce the Organizations HSE risks.
Updates risk assessments with business, regulatory or other significant changes.
Conduct safety, and environmental audits in all BU Canadian locations as well as USA Installations to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
Review audit reports from all EEBU NA locations and support as needed.
Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine cause and recommend measures to prevent future occurrences and implement preventive measures.
Responsible for preparing, presenting, and following up on actions for HSE Management Review meetings.
Work with the Quality manager as an ISO Management Representative communicate information on the HSE Management System and promote HSE culture throughout the organization.
Responsible for taking on the leadership role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, enforcing and promoting Health & Safety policies and procedures; adhering to current and local legislation; by attending Health and Safety Committee meetings and consistently promoting health & safety to employees.
Is responsible for leading and establishing, following, enforcing, and promoting policies, procedures, goals, and strategies to reduce the impact to the environment as a result of business activities.
Obtain all required permits and renewals, complete all required reports, filings, and other documentation as required by state/provincial, federal, and local government agencies to maintain EHS compliance in NA.
In coordination with local NA HSE,
manage all HSE activities involving hazardous chemicals, electrical safety, work exposures, hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage and disposal, fire protection equipment, spill kits, emergency drills and first aid supplies.
Interface with federal, state or provincial and local government agencies (i.e., OHSA, OSHA, EPA, MOE, etc.) and Prysmian corporate when necessary to ensure ongoing compliance.
Support new equipment installations and facility construction projects as required, assigning local team leader for EHS activities including contractor safety training.
Manage Hazard Communication programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
Training: Develop & present in-house HSE training workshops and/or manage outside training associates in conjunction with the Human Resources Department to meet our goals as required.
Ensure employees can recognize and understand their contributions to improving HSE performance.
Reports: Responsible for providing the following reports: Managing the Parent ST chart, HSE Reports on progress and achievements against the annual plan and activities including Management Review.
Professional & Technology Knowledge: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications.
Special Projects: Provide support with special projects relating to Health and Safety, and Environmental programs within the North American Operations.
Knowledge and skill requirements: Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration specializing in HSE, Operations Management or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing ISO environment that involved Health and Safety, and Environmental management in a leadership capacity. CSP or CRSP designation considered an asset.
In-depth knowledge of Canadian Health & Safety legislation as well as current Canadian employment legislation; demonstrated experience in and a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of safety including operational risk assessments, regulatory compliance and reporting Extensive experience developing and maintaining corporate policies & procedures Thorough understanding of statistical and continuous improvement methods.
Expertise in developing and initiating continuous improvement.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Experience in the rubber and/or thermoplastics manufacturing environment would be considered an asset Effective safety leadership skills, with a strong focus on HSE and business processes.
Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Candidates must be able to travel up to 1015% of the time for business needs.
