Position Responsibilities

The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a Full-Time Sessional Instructor (4.5 month Term Certain) to teach in the Engineering Department. The expectation will be that the faculty will teach
first year BSc Engineering as part of a university transfer program, and potentially other closely related topics.

Responsibilities of Full-Time Faculty at the School of Trades and Technology include (but are not limited to):

- Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes
- Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles




- Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
- Inspiring students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material
- Contributing to course and program curriculum development and renewal
- Engaging in scholarly activity within the domains of Ernest Boyer’s model: scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching
- Working collegially within department, School, or Institution committees and project teams

Required Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline
- P. Eng Designation

Note that alternate combinations of related education, certification, and work experience will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in related discipline
- Post-secondary teaching experience
