About JamFit
JamFit is a high-energy, community-driven fitness studio committed to making movement fun, empowering, and accessible for all. With our flagship studio in Manotick and a second location launching this summer in Kanata, we’re expanding—and we’re looking for a dynamic Step Instructor to help us bring rhythmic cardio workouts to life.
About the Role
We're seeking a high-energy Step Class Instructor who can lead fun, music-driven step workouts that get hearts pumping and members smiling. You’ll be the rhythm leader, combining cardio, choreography, and charisma to deliver classes that are both effective and unforgettable.
Responsibilities
- Lead upbeat step classes using music, choreography, and structured routines.
- Build a welcoming class environment that motivates both new and seasoned steppers.
- Cue movements clearly and in sync with music, providing visual and verbal guidance.
- Offer progressions, modifications, and movement alternatives for all fitness levels.
- Ensure safe footwork, alignment, and pacing to reduce injury risk.
- Arrive prepared, start and end on time, and maintain a clean, secure workout area.
- Keep classes fresh and challenging by staying up to date on step choreography and fitness trends.
Qualifications
- Group fitness certification (e.g., CanFitPro, ACE, NASM, ISSA) required.
- Previous experience teaching step classes or choreography-based formats strongly preferred.
- Excellent musicality and rhythm, with the ability to cue effectively to music.
- Strong understanding of safe movement mechanics and class design.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
- Positive, energetic, and engaging presence with great communication skills.
