If you love music and the technical side of production, join Musora as a part-time Studio Specialist and help bring music lessons and live broadcasts to life. You’ll work hands-on with audio and video equipment, support talented artists and educators, and help create content that inspires musicians around the world, all in approximately 20 hours per week.
Important Notes:
- To ensure you’re viewing the most accurate and up-to-date job opportunities, please apply directly through our official website or through our trusted third-party sites (Indeed, Monster, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Talent.com & Ziprecruiter).
- We don’t use AI to screen applications. So if you put real thought into your submission (and avoid generic, AI-generated responses), it will absolutely stand out!
- A note on salary: We’ve shared the full salary range for this role so you can see the potential for growth. Most new hires can expect to start somewhere around the low-middle of the range, depending on experience and skills. We also review compensation every year as part of our annual review process.
What you’ll do
- Get our studios ready: Set up cameras, microphones, lighting, recording equipment, teleprompters and cables for filming and live broadcasts.
- Bring productions to life: Operate audio and video equipment for studio sessions, location shoots and live streams, including switching between camera feeds.
- Help create great sound: Support sound checks, audio recording, live mixing, post-production mixing and mastering.
- Keep things running smoothly: Spot and troubleshoot technical issues, anticipate potential problems and flag equipment concerns to the Studio Manager.
- Find better ways to work: Help test and improve studio setups, technical processes and production workflows.
- Support the people behind the production: Work closely with producers, camera operators, studio teammates, artists and educators to create a coordinated, professional and welcoming environment.
How your experience shapes the role
We welcome candidates at different stages of their production careers. Your responsibilities and level of independence will reflect your experience.
At the junior to intermediate level, you’ll follow established setups and workflows, handle routine technical issues and build your skills through hands-on experience and team feedback.
You’ll contribute ideas and seek support when work is unfamiliar or more complex.
At the intermediate to senior level, you’ll take on more complex setups, diagnose technical problems and recommend lasting solutions. You’ll also help implement workflow improvements and share your knowledge with less experienced teammates.
What you bring
- Relevant production experience: For junior candidates, 2+ years of professional experience in recording studios, live production or broadcast environments; for senior candidates, 5+ years.
- Education or equivalent experience: A certificate in Music Production or a related field, with a diploma preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical knowledge: A solid understanding of audio recording, video capture and mixing best practices.
- Software skills: Experience with tools such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro or another DAW; Wirecast or OBS; Blackmagic ATEM Control; Universal Audio Control; and Google Workspace. Your proficiency should reflect your experience level.
- Troubleshooting ability: You spot potential technical problems early, take initiative to resolve them and know when to ask for support.
- Organization and ownership: You keep track of production details, follow through on tasks and stay focused under pressure.
- Clear communication: Strong written and spoken English, with an empathetic, skilled approach to working with guest artists, educators and teammates.
