Our client is an established Windsor manufacturer producing large steel plates, die components and custom fabricated parts for customers across North America.

We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who is comfortable setting up and machining large components, working independently from engineering drawings and solving practical machining challenges at the machine.

This is not a CNC programming position or a production button-pushing role. Programs are provided. The focus is on hands-on setup and machining, making offsets and basic adjustments as required, inspecting finished work and producing quality parts to specification.

What You'll Do

- Set up and operate large-format CNC milling equipment.
- Machine steel plates, die set components and custom fabricated parts to customer specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and determine tooling, workholding and machining sequence.
- Set up, indicate, position and prepare large workpieces for machining.
- Make offsets, basic program edits and setup adjustments as required at the machine.
- Monitor machining conditions and troubleshoot dimensional, tooling and setup issues.
- Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
- Maintain specified tolerances and ensure finished parts meet quality requirements.
- Safely move and position large workpieces using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Support other machining and fabrication operations as required.

What We're Looking For

- Approximately 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience preferred.
- Strong CNC milling and setup experience.
- Experience setting up and operating large-format CNC milling equipment is strongly preferred.




- Experience machining large steel plates, die components, fabricated components or similar heavy workpieces is an asset.
- Ability to independently read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, offsets and machining sequence.
- Comfortable making practical adjustments at the machine without requiring CNC programming responsibility.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and maintaining specified tolerances.
- Experience safely handling large components using overhead cranes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing as part of an experienced machining team.

Relevant Machine Experience

Direct FPT experience is valuable but is not required. Relevant experience may include:

- FPT milling machines.
- Horizontal or floor-type boring mills.
- Bridge mills.
- Gantry mills.
- Other large-format CNC milling equipment.

Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain or Fagor controls is considered an asset.

Schedule

- Day or afternoon shifts available.
- A 3-day weekend schedule is also available:Friday-Sunday | 6:00 AM-6:00 PM | Work 36 hours and get paid for 40.

Compensation & Benefits
