We are seeking an experienced Electrical Purchaser / Procurement Coordinator to support large-scale construction projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the management team, the Purchaser is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of electrical materials and equipment across multiple active projects.

This role requires previous experience working with electrical materials, equipment, suppliers, and terminology. Candidates without relevant electrical industry experience will not be considered.

You will work closely with our project management, estimating, and site teams to ensure materials are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Source, price, and procure electrical materials, equipment, and assets from approved vendors.
- Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) from initiation through to delivery confirmation.
- Maintain and update procurement tracking logs, material order sheets, and delivery registers.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm lead times, expedite deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
- Liaise with Project Managers and site Foremen to anticipate material requirements and prevent project delays.
- Track long-lead equipment, including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, cable bus, and other major electrical equipment, and flag schedule risks.
- Review vendor quotes and invoices for accuracy and assist with cost control and budget tracking.




- Manage vendor relationships and assist with evaluating new supplier options.
- Maintain organized procurement records for project close-out and audit purposes.
- Assist with material returns, warranty claims, and back-charge documentation as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience within the electrical industry, electrical construction, or an electrical supply environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials and equipment is required.
- Strong understanding of products such as conduit, wire and cable, switchgear, panels, breakers, fittings, grounding materials, cable tray, and related electrical equipment.
- Experience working with electrical wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors, and vendors.
- Experience managing Purchase Orders, vendor relationships, pricing, and delivery tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel — you will use it every day.
- Familiarity with construction project schedules and the ability to prioritize urgent material requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal team coordination.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple open orders simultaneously.

Please note: General purchasing experience without electrical industry experience does not meet the requirements of this position.
