Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Houseperson/Maintenance Worker to join our hospitality team at Motel 6 London, ON.

The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining commercial or residential properties and a strong commitment to ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment. In addition, the candidate will play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our hotel, helping to create a welcoming workplace for guests. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, contributing to the guest experience through exceptional custodial and cleaning services. Prior experience in hotel work is preferred, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude toward teamwork and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

- Assist with cleaning and maintaining public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and stairwells
- Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas regularly
- Restock supplies such as towels, toiletries, and cleaning materials as needed
- Ensure all common areas are tidy, safe, and presentable at all times
- Support housekeeping staff with additional duties during busy periods
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly




- Follow established safety procedures and sanitation standards in all tasks
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor while interacting with guests and staff
- Respond to guest requests with care and attention
- Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
- Repair and maintain room's heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems
- Maintain the condition of hotel lobby and parking lot.
- Maintain operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs

Experience

- Previous experience maintaining commercial or residential properties
- Previous maintenance or cleaning experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus
- Experience in hospitality or custodial roles demonstrates reliability and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to safety protocols
- Willingness to learn new skills related to hotel maintenance and cleanliness
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move heavy items.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
