With direction from the General Manager, the Retail Assistant is responsible for preparing retail merchandise, and managing all retail sales and online sales fulfillment as well as provide support with business development and marketing tasks.
The successful applicant will understand the start-up nature of the business and the need to be hands-on. A retail sales and marketing all-rounder, the Retail Assistant will enjoy dynamic role assisting in retail and business development.
The ability to work independently and a genuine desire to support and collaborate with a small team will be needed for this role.

Squamish Soap & Hygiene Inc. (SSHI) is a natural soap and hygiene manufacturing start-up that produces and markets its range under the Aabluo brand. SSHI products are waterways safe and proudly made in Squamish, BC from locally sourced ingredients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Retail Assistant’s responsibilities include:
- Managing storefront operations and ensuring the smooth running of SSHI retail store and selling events that involve cash management, retail sales, merchandising/ display, customer interaction, inventory management, and sales and inventory reporting.
- Where appropriate, assist the General Manager in commercial sales and e-commerce order fulfillment.
- As required and under the direction of the General Manager, assist and support the Production Assistant.
- Other related responsibilities required by the business from time to time.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High School diploma/ secondary school completion.
- Basic computer skill
- Quick learner
- Team player
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Customer-facing roles or retail experience
- Familiarity with e-commerce and web sales
