JOLCAR Security Services Inc. is seeking professional, reliable, and customer-service-oriented Security Guards to join our team.

This position is suited for experienced security professionals who are comfortable working independently while also functioning as part of a professional security team. The successful candidate must be prepared to work a rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.

IMPORTANT SHIFT REQUIREMENT

Employees must be available and willing to work both day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the rotation.

Key Responsibilities

The Security Guard will be responsible for:

- Conducting regular indoor and outdoor patrols of the assigned property.
- Walking for extended periods while conducting patrols and security inspections.
- Monitoring the property for safety, security, and potential hazards.
- Responding promptly and professionally to security-related incidents and issues.
- Providing assistance to clients, tenants, visitors, staff, and members of the public.
- Maintaining a qualified and customer-service-focused presence.
- Operating two-way radios and maintaining effective radio communications with the security team.
- Completing accurate, detailed, and professional incident and daily activity reports.
- Responding to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and other security concerns.
- Following site-specific post orders, procedures, and JOLCAR policies.
- Working closely with fellow security personnel and management.
- Contacting emergency services when required and providing appropriate assistance until emergency responders arrive.
- Maintaining a visible security presence and helping to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Performing other reasonable security-related duties as directed by management.





Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

- Minimum two (2) years of security industry experience.
- A valid Nova Scotia Security Guard Licence.
- A valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence.
- A strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to write clear, accurate, and professional reports.
- The ability to operate two-way radios and communicate effectively with other team members.
- The ability to work independently while remaining an effective member of a security team.
- The ability and willingness to conduct both indoor and outdoor foot patrols.
- Professional appearance, attitude, and conduct.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult or challenging situations.

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
