Job Description

R&W; Metal Fabricating and Design Inc. is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Production Buffers / Grinders to join our manufacturing team in Paris, Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent position with straight day shift. This position involves primarily using portable grinders and other hand tools to grind, smooth and finish welded steel products for the duration of your workday. By removing all weld spatter and identifying weld defects from completed weld assemblies you will ensure proper paint adhesion and directly improve product quality.

We are looking for dependable individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, take pride in producing quality work and work safely as part of a team.

Previous manufacturing or grinding experience is preferred; however, training will be provided to suitable candidates.

Day Shift: Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Friday 7:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

What You'll Do

- Operate portable hand grinders and other power and hand tools to remove excess weld material and smooth welded surfaces.
- Grind, buff and finish steel components and welded assemblies according to production requirements.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met.
- Identify and report defects or quality concerns.
- Handle, move and position steel components and finished products as required.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining consistent quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Assist with other general production duties as required.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience operating portable grinders, power tools or similar equipment considered an asset

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding manufacturing position. Employees must be able to:

- Standing for extended periods during the shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, turning, lifting, carrying and pulling
- Frequent material handling, including lifting and moving components weighing up to and occasionally in excess of 50 lbs., with lifting equipment or assistance used where appropriate
- Wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves and CSA-approved safety footwear
- Safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
