Operate underground mining equipment at Hecla Keno Hill, using jumbo drills, bolters, scoop trams, and haul trucks safely.
Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, Underground Miners support protected, productive operations across Miner 1–5 levels. Duties span drilling, loading, mucking, trucking, service installation, and general mining-cycle work. Experience with multiple equipment types supports advanced assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate jumbo drills, bolters, scoop trams, and haul trucks
- Perform drilling, loading, priming, and blasting activities
- Inspect equipment and report defects to supervision
- Assess ground conditions and install required ground support
- Complete workplace inspections, logs, and safety reports
Requirements:
- Previous underground mining experience strongly preferred
- Three years' underground equipment experience for advanced roles
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and clean abstract
- Valid Yukon blasting certification or willingness to write
- Ability to read mine plans and follow instructions
