Support resident wellness at Optima Living as a Recreation Assistant, using creative programming and person-centred care in seniors housing.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, you will help plan and deliver therapeutic recreation programs addressing social, cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The position supports residents' dignity, self-determination, and independence through purposeful activities and individualized engagement. You will also contribute to assessments, documentation, events, and ongoing resident support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and deliver person-centred recreation programs reflecting wellness dimensions
- Coordinate purposeful activities, initiatives, calendars, and events
- Develop resident profiles, assessments, and meaningful goals




- Monitor resident progress and recommend appropriate program placement
- Maintain documentation, progress notes, equipment, and safe recreation areas

Requirements:

- Minimum one year recreation programming or activities experience
- Recognized recreation and leisure program completion is an asset
- Active CPR, First Aid, Food Protected, and Serving It Right certifications
- Creative, adaptable, organized, and collaborative approach
- Ability to work varied shifts and manage challenging situations respectfully
