Job Summary

Join the team as a Welder-Fitter on a 4.5-month contract (with a potential to become a full time permanent position). The Welder-Fitter is responsible for fabricating, fitting, assembling, and welding metal components and automotive parts according to engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will perform welding and fitting operations using various welding processes and equipment to manufacture automotive components, fixtures, brackets, frames, assemblies, and other production-related parts while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Duties

- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metals as required..
- Weld automotive components and assemblies according to approved welding procedures.
- Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
- Prepare, clean, grind, and finish metal components before and after welding.
- Ensure welds meet dimensional, visual, and quality requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols,



and fabrication specifications.
- Measure, cut, fit, align, and assemble metal components before welding.
- Use measuring instruments, fixtures, jigs, clamps, and positioning equipment.
- Verify component dimensions, tolerances, and alignment during assembly.
- Identify and correct fitting or fabrication issues before final welding.

Experience Required: Practical welding and assembly capabilities, mechanical knowledge, blueprint or schematic reading, measurement with calipers, and basic math support accurate fabrication. Secure, capable use of hand and power tools is important for completing duties and coordinating work.

Preferred: Experience with MIG or TIG welding, machining, plasma cutting, press brake machines, ductwork, rigging, cranes, or forklifts is advantageous. Construction or manufacturing experience can strengthen familiarity with fabrication workflows and equipment.

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
