The Associate Dean, Academic Engagement leads a substantial portfolio within the University Library’s senior leadership team. This full-time, term faculty appointment advances teaching and learning through public services, instruction, student support, liaison librarianship, and campus engagement. The position advises the Dean, guides strategic projects, and cultivates collaboration across academic and administrative units.

Approximately 75% of time supports the portfolio, with 25% devoted to ongoing academic and research activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute University Library strategic direction

Lead Academic Engagement portfolio vision and priorities

Manage budgets,



capital projects, and resource allocation

Coach employees and build leadership capacity

Represent the Library on university and external committees

Requirements

ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree

Minimum five years progressively responsible library leadership experience

Experience guiding organizational change and strategic alignment

Robust research record and budget management experience

Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills

Lead inclusive library strategy, academic partnerships, service delivery, and employee development as Associate Dean at USask.
