This Chief
Officer role combines second-in-command responsibilities with Senior DP Operator, Safety Officer when appointed, Medical Representative, and Ship Security Officer duties. You will manage operational records, vessel stability, deck stores, garbage procedures, lifting appliances, and secure cargo transfers while maintaining relevant training and certification.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Senior DP Operator and Ship Security Officer
Chair the vessel safety committee when appointed
Keep logbooks orderly and updated according to instructions
Secure deck cargo and organize cargo transfer operations
Maintain deck stores, garbage records, and vessel fabric
Requirements
Experience on OSVs, including anchor handling and towing
Large AHTS vessel experience considered an asset
Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties Certificate
Passenger Safety Management Training and Fast Rescue Boats proficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Use AHTS experience, DP certification, and marine safety knowledge to support DOF’s growing Canadian fleet.
