Our Long

Lake facility, located in northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray, began producing in 2008 and is a SAGD-only operation for the interim, with production capacity of around 72,000 barrels of bitumen a day. In this role, you will participate in our rotating 14x14 shift schedule which requires you to work fourteen 12‐hour day shifts (7am – 7pm), followed by fourteen days off. Then you will be required to work fourteen 12‐hour night shifts (7pm – 7am), followed by fourteen days off.

We offer free parking at our site or if you'd like us to take the wheel, you can use our daily bus service to/from Fort McMurray. Therefore,



we are seeking a Contractor - Process Operator - 2D to join our growing team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This energetic role will be instrumental in supporting day‐to‐day facility operations, optimizing production performance, and responding effectively to operational challenges.

Please note this is a 12‐months contract position through CPNA's contracting agency. Preference will be given to 3rd Class Power Engineer and/or additional College/University technical qualifications or trade certificates. Minimum of 1 year of plant/field experience, preferably in a SAGD or Upgrader facility.

Experience in hands‐on support of operations, technical, and maintenance work teams. Strong organization, planning, and new infrastructure development skills. Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook). A valid Class 5 driver's license is required. Adhering to and enforcing safety policies and procedures

- Issuing and managing safe work permits
- Environmental stewardship
- Supporting/responding to unit operations and equipment requirements, including Shift Turnover, Start of Shift Orientation, troubleshooting, and Defined Rounds
- Communicating between the Control Room Operator (CRO) and on shift operator
- Run to Target, report deviations in the e‐log and elevate to Maintenance/Technical/Production for assistance as required
- Managing abnormal situations by initiating a controlled hierarchy of Stabilize/Slowdown/Shutdown (SSS)
- Participating in and completing required training to achieve a high level of understanding and competency
- Adhering to CNOOC International's Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Adhering to all principles of the Production Department Operations Excellence Process.
