This Complex Claim Director position combines lawyer-led claims handling with practical insurance analysis. You manage policies covering cyber liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices liability, fidelity and crime, and other professional liability. Moderate supervision supports investigations, recovery efforts, litigation management, reporting, and negotiated settlements across complex Financial Lines matters.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate claims and analyze coverage under Financial Lines policies

Report financial exposure, loss development, and claim strategy

Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate related efforts





Approve routine outside counsel payments and litigation budgets

Explain laws affecting underwriting and claim decisions

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus Juris Doctor or LLB

Duly qualified provincial legal practitioner

Bilingual French and English communication proficiency required

Minimum three years’ legal or claims-handling experience

Solid negotiation and transactional drafting capabilities
