About the Role

Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for a Hospitalist to join a well-established team serving patients at the Devon General Hospital. You will provide hospitalist care and manage inpatient care and consultative services working collaboratively with Emergency Medicine physicians and allied health professionals to support safe recovery, medical optimization, and discharge planning.

Opportunity at a Glance

· Practice setting: Suburban Hospital

· Position Reports to: Dr. Bash Amien, Hospital Medical Lead

· Approximate FTE/ rotation model: approximately 1 week every 6-8 weeks

· Weekend Coverage: Yes

· Patient population: Suburban

· Call responsibilities: required to take call 7am to 9pm while on rotation

· Patient Census: 13-17 inpatients

· Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities May Include

· Hospital inpatient care or consultative services

Clinical Supports & Environment May Include

· Pharmacy support / rounding model

· Allied health team: PT/OT/SW, etc.

· Diagnostics: CT, MRI, ICU, etc.

· EMR: Connect Care / Epic

Qualifications

We are seeking cooperative, adaptable physicians who are comfortable in inpatient medicine environments and who value interdisciplinary teamwork.

Required Assets

· Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), or equivalent

· Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)

· Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Preferred Assets

· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)





· Interest in quality improvement, teaching, or program development

Compensation

This position offers highly competitive compensation, with flexible models designed to support both full-time and part-time practice.

Remuneration options: Fee for Service in accordance with the Alberta Medical Association Schedule of Medical Benefits
