Our client, a manufacturing and distribution business in the St. Catharines region, is on the lookout for a hands-on, collaborative Finance Manager . This position will be a positive fit for a professional with strong business acumen who thrives in a hands-on, family-owned business environment and wants to play a key role on the management team!

Reporting directly to the owner, you will serve as an on-site business manager bridging accounting, job costing, operations, and executive strategy. You will oversee one direct report and work closely with senior leadership to support the company's continued growth.

Responsibilities:

- Manage financial reporting, tax filings, banking functions, inventory, and job costing
- Supervise and mentor one direct report
- Serve on the management team as an active business manager, understanding operations, procedures, and strategy
- Handle inventory management and job costing utilizing QuickBooks Online, Fishbowl, and Excel
- Oversee foreign currency transactions and hedging (EUR and USD)
- Lead process improvement initiatives across accounting and operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the owner, the operations/HR director, and sales/marketing leadership




- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes while providing margin analysis by product, customer, and business segment
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, working capital, and banking relationships
- Partner with purchasing, operations, and warehouse teams to monitor landed costs, freight, duties, and foreign exchange impacts

Qualifications:

- CPA is preferred, but operational mindset and cultural fit are prioritized over a designation
- Ideal experience functioning as a hands-on manager within the manufacturing industry
- Solid knowledge of inventory management, job costing, production, and process improvements
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Fishbowl, and advanced Excel
- Familiarity with foreign currency management and hedging (EUR and USD) is beneficial
- Strong trust-building, communication, and collaboration skills with comfort navigating family business dynamics
- Ability to work 100% on-site
