Front Counter/Sandwich Artist/Team Lead

We are an Italian sandwich shop that is looking for an energetic and reliable Sandwich Artist and possibly Team Lead. In this role, you will be the face of our storefront, bringing our menu to life for guests, operating the till, and ensuring every customer leaves with a great experience. We are looking for a dynamic personality who can lead by example, stay calm under pressure, and keep the team organized during stressful, busy rushes.

Key Responsibilities

- Team Leadership & Shift Management: Direct and guide the team to maintain smooth operations, especially during peak hours. Open and/or close the store strictly following company standards.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide a friendly, welcoming guest experience. Answer questions, accommodate special requests, and enthusiastically describe our sandwiches and ingredients to customers.
- Food Preparation & Assembly: Prepare and assemble sandwiches quickly and accurately according to recipes and customer modifications. Perform daily prep work, including slicing meats, mixing spreads, and cooking vegetables as needed.
- Order Processing & Cash Handling: Operate the POS system efficiently, process orders, and handle daily cash operations safely (including till floats and end-of-day cash-outs).
- Product Expertise: Maintain full, up-to-date knowledge of the entire sandwich menu and all retail products used and sold in-store.

Requirements & Qualifications

and strictly responsible. Must be able to work dependably with little to no supervision.
- Adaptability: Role-adaptable and capable of staying calm, organized, and positive in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Efficiency: Strong understanding of workflow efficiency with a continuous drive to improve team productivity.
- Communication: Fluent in conversational English to effectively interact with guests and team members.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (15 kg) and stay active on your feet during shifts.
- Certifications: FoodSafe Level 1 certification is highly preferred.

Compensation & Advantages

- Base Wage: $18.25 – $20.00 per hour (Wage increases are strictly performance-based)
- Gratuities: Average of $2.00 – $4.00 per hour in cash tips

Shift Schedule & Location

- Location: 1110 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC V5L 3X2
- Store Hours: 11am to 7pm
- Shifts: Shifts may change weekly based on store needs. Open availability is highly preferred, and scheduling is strictly performance-based.
- Standard Shift Blocks:
- Lead Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (May extend to 5PM as needed)
- Mid Shift: 12:00 PM – Close
- Closing Shift: 3:00 PM – Close

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour
