Full Stack Developer (Entry Level)

Verismo Health Inc.

Markham, Ontario · Hybrid · Full time

Compensation: $65,000 CAD per year

About us

At Verismo Health Inc., we deliver innovative, patient-centered healthcare solutions designed to improve access, efficiency, and outcomes. Focused on both in-person and telemedicine services, we bridge traditional care with modern technology to enhance patient experiences and empower physicians.

Operating across Ontario, we manage one of the province’s largest networks of primary care clinics and healthcare services, combining evidence-based practices with cutting-edge technologies. Our mission is to streamline healthcare delivery, support multidisciplinary teams, and shape the future of healthcare one patient at a time.

The role

We’re hiring an entry-level full-stack developer to join our Markham team. We build and run healthcare software that handles patient data under PHIPA. We are a small team that works AI-first. Most of our code is produced with tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, reviewed by an engineer, and shipped through automated checks.

In this role, you’ll learn to direct those tools and judge their output, not just write code by hand. That means building strong engineering foundations: how requests, data, and permissions move through a system, and the discipline to verify what the tools produce before it reaches production.

What you’ll do

- Work with the team to take features from problem to production: understand the workflow, build it with AI-assisted tools, test it, ship it, and help support it
- Build and maintain React/Next.js interfaces and the Node APIs and Postgres data layers behind them
- Review AI-generated code with a senior engineer, and learn to spot issues in correctness, security, and data handling

- Help maintain the instructions our coding agents work from, including repo skills, guardrails, and CI checks
- Contribute to AI agents for clinic and operations workflows
- Add tests where they matter and help keep CI green
- Debug issues by reading logs and tracing data flow, not by guessing
- Work with clinical and operations staff to understand real workflows before building
- Handle patient data correctly every time: least-privilege access, audit trails, and no PHI in logs or prompts

What we’re looking for

- Strong fundamentals in HTTP, REST, relational data modelling, SQL, authentication and authorization, and async JavaScript, from coursework, a co-op or internship, a bootcamp, or projects. You can explain how a request flows from the browser to the database and back.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React or Next.js, and a Node backend. School, internship, and personal projects count.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar. You should be ready to use them daily and able to talk about how you prompt, review, and verify their output.
- Ability to read and evaluate code you did not write
- Practical testing and debugging habits
- Comfort with Git and GitHub, including branches and pull requests
- Care and judgement around sensitive data. Prior healthcare experience is not required, but you must take compliance seriously and learn PHIPA fundamentals quickly.

Nice to have

- Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, or AWS
- Experience with EMR systems, healthcare, or another regulated industry
- Experience with MCP, custom tools, skills, or hooks for AI agents
- A co-op, internship, or shipped side project we can look at

How to apply

Apply on LinkedIn with your resume and a short note about a project you’re proud of.
