Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Fanshawe College location in our student health program. This full-time role works with an interprofessional team to support students at the Fanshawe College location.

The candidate must be available Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30-5:00pm for a total of 37.5 hours weekly.

As a Registered Nurse at FKSMC you be responsible for:

- Leading our nursing team
- MLHU main contact for protocol, vaccine and requisition management
- Manage nursing schedule and assist with reschedules for physician schedule
- Ability to forecast and plan for following week and months ahead
- Supply management
- Interpret immunization records for student pre placement requirements
- Answer pharmacy queries
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Assist with onboarding recent residents/ fellows
- Participate in annual health and safety inspection
- Room patients and facilitate flow of clinic
- Ensuring patient is prepared for appointment by taking history, vitals, and documentation
- Injections with and without physician directive in accordance to the Public Health Immunization schedule, Tuberculosis skin tests, flu shots, scheduled allergy injections, patient education
- Phlebotomy
- Specimen collection- including, but not limited to instructions for patient, labeling, requisition preparation, chart documentation, billing documentation, storage pending lab pick up




- Physician-Assisting with medical procedures, joint injections, suturing, cervical screening
- Emergency Care and First Aid
- Triage for Walk In appointments
- Basic cleaning and preparation of exam rooms
- Communicate clearly with: Administration, Nurse colleagues, Patients (In person and via phone conversations), Fanshawe College Employees, Student Counseling Services
- Candidate must be energetic, flexible, able to adapt to change well and a team player.

Qualifications:

- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario verified upon date of hire & reviewed annually.
- Experience in family health nursing preferred.
- Skill in planning for, co-ordinating and leading other nursing personnel and support service staff.
- Proficiency in interpersonal communication skills, both written & verbal.
- Computer skills: has a working knowledge of the internet, Microsoft word and keyboarding skills.
- Clear Police Clearance.
- CPR Certification is an asset.
- Mental Health Training is an asset. Empathetic listening to validate and support mental health appointments.

Pay: $45.00-$48.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
