About Us:

Mincon Canada manufactures rotary blast hole drill bits for the mining industry. We are seeking experienced machinists who can independently set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools in a production environment. This is not an entry-level position.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

- 3 to 5+ years of practical machining experience in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to independently set up CNC lathes, CNC mills, or conventional machine tools.
- Experience selecting tooling, establishing offsets, changing tooling, and completing first-piece inspections.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to specified tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues with minimal supervision.

Assets:

- General Machinist (429A) or CNC Machinist certification.
- CNC programming knowledge (Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens, Mastercam).
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to multitask and follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a machining knowledge review and practical shop assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Complete machine setups independently.
- Select tooling, establish offsets, and verify first-off parts.




- Operate CNC and conventional machine tools.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
- Follow setup sheets, programs, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Schedule:

- Four-day work week (Monday to Thursday)
- 10-hour shifts
- Rotating shifts and overtime as required

Compensation:

- Experienced Machinist: $25.10 to $30.40/hour
- Ticketed General Machinist: $32.75 to $37.65/hour
- Shift premiums paid for afternoon and night shifts
- Wage based on experience and demonstrated setup capability
