À propos du rôle

Nous lançons trois cours d'enrichissement pour un petit groupe de six à sept jeunes filles d'une école privée, au Château à Gatineau, une grande maison que vous pouvez voir à mackayhouse.ca. Les cours se donnent en personne, une ou deux fois par semaine, en soirée ou la fin de semaine, dans un cadre privé et exclusif. Nous cherchons une personne qui peut concevoir et enseigner les trois cours, dans un esprit d'excellence, de courtoisie et de savoir-faire.

Ces cours sont pensés pour devenir des cours payants ouverts à d'autres participantes : c'est donc une occasion réelle de concevoir et de bâtir quelque chose à vous, dans un lieu d'exception.

Cours 1 : Étiquette à table et savoir-vivre formel

L'art de recevoir et d'être reçu : quelle fourchette utiliser et dans quel ordre, comment se tenir, comment parler, comment se comporter lorsque l'on est servi. Les codes formels britanniques et français, et les bonnes manières qui vont avec.

Cours 2 : Cuisine, en deux volets

Volet A, les plats : pâtes, plats principaux et viandes, dont les steaks, apprendre à cuisiner ces plats du début à la fin.

Volet B, la pâtisserie : biscuits, gâteaux et pains.

Cours 3 : Gestion de maison et entretien ménager

Faire un lit de façon formelle, comme dans un hôtel. Faire la lessive correctement, sans mélanger les couleurs. Gérer une cuisine propre, sans utiliser le même linge pour tout. Balayer et laver un plancher correctement : retirer les chaises, balayer d'abord, puis laver en plusieurs passages avec les bons produits.

Exigences

- Expérience d'enseignement, de préférence auprès d'enfants et d'adolescents.
- Connaissance réelle et démontrable des trois domaines : étiquette formelle, cuisine et pâtisserie, gestion de maison.
- Vérification des antécédents judiciaires, secteur vulnérable, obligatoire (travail auprès de mineures). Une vérification valide est un atout; sinon, la personne retenue devra l'obtenir avant de commencer.




- Ponctualité, discrétion, présentation soignée et excellentes manières.
- Capacité à se déplacer au Château à Gatineau, une ou deux fois par semaine.

About the role

We are launching three enrichment courses for a small group of six to seven girls from a private school, held at the Chateau in Gatineau, a large home you can see at mackayhouse.ca. Sessions are in person, once or twice a week, in the evenings or on weekends, in a private and exclusive setting. We are looking for one person who can design and teach all three courses, with excellence, courtesy and real know-how.

These courses are being built to become paid courses that others will enrol in, so this is a genuine chance to design and build something of your own, in an exceptional place.

Course 1: Formal Dining Etiquette The art of hosting and being hosted: which fork to use and in what order, how to sit and carry yourself, how to speak, how to behave when being served. British and French formal codes, and the good manners that go with them.

Course 2: Cooking, in two parts

Part A, main dishes: pastas, main courses and meats, including steaks,



learning to cook these dishes from start to finish.

Part B, baking: cookies, cakes and breads.

Course 3: House Management and Housekeeping

Making a bed formally, as in a hotel. Doing laundry properly, without mixing colours. Keeping a kitchen clean, never using the same towel for everything. Sweeping and mopping a floor properly: moving the chairs aside, sweeping first, then mopping in several passes with the right products.

Requirements

- Teaching experience, preferably with children and teenagers.
- Real, demonstrable knowledge of all three areas: formal etiquette, cooking and baking, house management.
- Criminal record check, vulnerable sector, mandatory (work with minors). A valid check is an asset; otherwise the successful candidate must obtain one before starting.
- Punctual, discreet, well presented, with excellent manners.
- Able to come to the Chateau in Gatineau once or twice a week.

- Describe your experience teaching children or teenagers. What ages, what subjects, and for how long?

- Describe your cooking and baking experience. What dishes, and what have you taught?
- Describe your experience in house management and housekeeping, including formal bed making, laundry and floor care.
- For each of the three courses, please attach or describe the course outline you would teach.
- Are you willing and able to obtain a vulnerable sector criminal record check before starting?
- Sessions run in the evenings or on weekends, once or twice a week, in person in Gatineau, and the start is immediate. Which evenings or weekend times suit you?
