Job Overview

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice, you’ll support the inspection, maintenance, repair, and assembly of on highway tractors and trailers. You’ll learn through hands-on work with experienced mechanics, using safe work practices and appropriate tools. School tuition reimbursement available.

Responsibilities

- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs using hand tools and power tools, following instructions and safety procedures.
- Help inspect on highway tractors/trailers/body jobs.
- Support troubleshooting using schematics and practical mechanical knowledge; assist with welding, electrical, HVAC, and repair tasks as directed.
- Help with assembly, heavy lifting, and equipment operation when appropriate.
- Service work as required.
- Suspension repairs.
- Brake system repairs.

Experience Required: Practical mechanical knowledge,



protected use of hand and power tools, attention to detail, and the ability to follow repair instructions and work safely around heavy equipment. 2nd or 3rd year apprentice currently registered in the Alberta Apprenticeship program.

Preferred: Experience with Cummins Insite and J-Pro computer diagnostics. Basic engine repairs and wiring experience preferred. Wages dependent upon experience. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Pay: $26.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44.0 per week
