About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Horticulturist / Garden Maintenance Specialist.

You'll use your horticultural expertise to maintain beautiful, healthy gardens and contribute to larger garden installation projects. We're looking for someone who can confidently identify plants, apply proper care techniques, and work independently. .

You'll also have opportunities to take on crew leadership responsibilities and expand your skills in other areas of landscaping.

Key ResponsibilitiesGarden Maintenance & Daily Operations

- Perform residential garden maintenance, including tree and shrub pruning, hedge trimming, weeding, fertilizing, lawn mowing, edging, and seasonal cleanups.
- Identify plants, assess their health, and apply appropriate pruning, fertilization, and seasonal care techniques.
- ensure necessary tools, equipment, and materials are ready for the day.
- Coordinate supply pickups and travel between residential job sites.
- Organize daily tasks, support crew members, and verify that work is completed correctly and efficiently.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites while communicating professionally with clients and management.

Garden Installations

- Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and seasonal flowers, ensuring proper soil preparation, spacing, planting depth, and installation techniques.
- Lead planting activities on larger residential garden installation projects.




- Assist with hardscape installation and other landscaping projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Formal education, diploma, or certification in horticulture, landscape horticulture, or a related field.
- Practical experience in residential garden maintenance and plant care.
- Strong plant identification skills and knowledge of pruning techniques, soil conditions, fertilization, and seasonal maintenance.
- Experience safely operating landscaping tools and equipment, including hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, edgers, and blowers.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to drive company vehicles.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, initiative, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an outdoor environment.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience leading or coordinating a landscaping crew.
- Experience with larger residential garden installation projects.
- Familiarity with hardscape construction.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
