Summary
We are seeking a Yard Worker to support daily operations at our lumber yard in Richmond. The Yard Worker will play a vital role in maintaining smooth logistics, stowing railcar cables, fixing lumber packages and maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work environment. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to be trained to operate a forklift, resulting in increased responsibilities and an increase in hourly wage.
Responsibilities
- Prepare railcars for unloading, and stow railcar cables after unloading.
- Repair and re-wrap lumber packages as needed.
- Assist in warehouse organization and inventory management.
- Support shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain safety standards across all operations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or construction setting.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks is an asset.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and load handling.
