Position Summary

Best Western Marquis Inn & Suites is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance Helper / Construction Helper to join our team.

This unique position combines hotel maintenance responsibilities with the exciting opportunity to support the construction and opening of our new TownePlace Suites by Marriott development in Prince Albert. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Supervisor, assisting with construction support, facility maintenance, repairs, and operational readiness activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in both hospitality maintenance and commercial construction while working with an established and growing hospitality organization.

Key Responsibilities Hotel Maintenance

- Assist with routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Conduct inspections of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs throughout the property.
- Support maintenance staff with troubleshooting and repairs involving electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Assist with room repairs, public area maintenance, and facility upkeep.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using company systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest service issues.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and company standards.

Construction & Site Supervisor Support
- Assist the Site Supervisor with daily construction activities related to the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott project.
- Help coordinate material deliveries and organize construction supplies and equipment.




- Monitor site cleanliness and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Support contractors and trades with project logistics and general site requirements.
- Document project progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions as directed by the Site Supervisor.
- Help with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E;) installation during the pre-opening phase.
- Assist in preparing guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas for opening.
- Support the transition from construction to hotel operations and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance principles.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read basic schematics and drawings is considered an asset.
- Experience in hotel maintenance, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Robust organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
