Develop planetary and strain wave gearboxes for Humanoid’s humanoid robots, using CAD, prototyping, and manufacturing expertise in Vancouver. Shape critical actuation systems.
As a Senior Actuator Mechanical Design Engineer, you will own actuator subsystems from concept through prototyping, testing, and deployment. The work combines gearbox development, production-focused component design, GD&T;, and technical documentation. You will rapidly prototype using 3D printing, CNC machining, and fabrication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Select reduction methods for robotic actuator applications
- Develop cutting-edge planetary and strain wave gearboxes
- Apply GD&T; to manufacturable production drawings
- Prototype components through 3D printing and CNC machining
- Maintain drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
Requirements:
- Three-plus years designing planetary, cycloidal, or strain wave actuators
- Seven-plus years designing complex hardware products
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, NX, or similar CAD tools
- Experience applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field
Use gearbox design, CAD, GD&T;, and hands-on prototyping expertise to develop reliable Humanoid robotic actuators.
