Lead hydrocarbon testing with GC-FID, GC-MS, Pyrolysis GC-MS, and DSC as a Principal Chemist in Calgary’s in office laboratory.
SLB’s integration with ChampionX creates an opening within Production Chemical Technologies – Flow Assurance and Analytical Services Technology. The Principal Chemist applies subject matter expertise across laboratory testing, data interpretation, method development, and instrument support. The schedule is Monday to Friday, based on 40 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hydrocarbon testing using GC-FID, GC-MS, Pyrolysis GC-MS, and DSC
- Provide laboratory support and accurate analytical data
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Support technical and non-technical staff with results interpretation
- Demonstrate safety leadership and continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Six years’ experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree
- Four years’ experience with a relevant master’s degree
- Two years’ experience with a relevant Ph.D.
- In-depth gas chromatography expertise and method development experience
- Calgary residence or surrounding-area location required
