Job Summary The Maths Teacher plans and delivers engaging mathematics instruction, helping students build understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills. The role includes adapting explanations to different learning needs, checking progress, and creating a supportive learning environment where students can participate and grow. The teacher must be qualified and have the subject knowledge necessary to teach mathematics up to Grade 12.

Responsibilities

- Plan and teach lessons that develop mathematical knowledge, reasoning, and practical problem-solving.
- Use tutoring and targeted explanations to support students who need additional guidance.
- Monitor learning, provide constructive feedback, and maintain clear records of student progress.
- Adapt activities and materials for varied learning needs, including students requiring special education support, and use computer skills and relevant computer science tools to support instruction.

Requirements

Required: Strong math knowledge, teaching and communication skills, and the ability to explain concepts clearly, support children, and use basic computer tools for instruction and recordkeeping. Classroom experience and patience are valuable for maintaining an inclusive, focused learning environment.

Preferred: Experience working with children, tutoring, or teaching mathematics; familiarity with classroom practice, special education approaches, and computer science can strengthen lesson delivery and help tailor support to students.

Pay: $18.75-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
