Advance traffic safety with the County of Grande Prairie through enforcement programs, radar, and community-focused public service. This role is contract-based.

This 18-month Community Peace Officer contract supports traffic safety, education, and enforcement across the County service area. The position suits candidates with law enforcement interests, solid judgment, and effective communication skills. Experience with Alberta statutes, traffic enforcement, radar, laser, or related peace officer work may receive preference.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out traffic safety and enforcement programs
- Enforce select provincial statutes and municipal bylaws
- Conduct mobile patrols across assigned service areas
- Investigate complaints and collect supporting evidence




- Provide information about applicable laws and regulations

Requirements:

- Experience with Alberta statutes and traffic enforcement preferred
- Radar, laser, or commercial vehicle training preferred
- Recent peace officer experience may receive preference
- Grade 12 and related two-year diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain appointment and pass required assessments
