The Principal Engineer leads Highway Engineering design within Parsons’ Highways and Freeways group, supporting Ministry of Transportation Ontario projects. You will manage design development from functional studies through preliminary and detail design. The position involves roadway modelling, grading, drainage, storm sewers, pavement marking, signage, construction staging, and traffic management. You will prepare technical deliverables and support quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage highway design for low to high-complexity projects
- Monitor field investigations and roadway modelling activities
- Coordinate utility,



contract drawing, and document preparation
- Develop quantity estimates and construction cost estimates
- Provide construction liaison and technical reporting

Requirements:

- Civil or Transportation Engineering university degree
- P.Eng. license with Qualified Engineers Ontario
- 15+ years of MTO experience
- Advanced highway engineering theories, regulations, and technology knowledge
- Advanced AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and AutoTurn knowledge
