Build post-anesthesia assessment expertise at Mount Sinai Hospital as a Registered Practical Nurse supporting dynamic patient recovery. This full time schedule offers Monday-to-Friday hours without night shifts.

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit serves patients before and after surgery, including emergency cases, specialty procedures, day surgery, and same-day admissions. You will communicate concise clinical information across the Operating Room, anesthesia, nurses, physicians, patients, and families. The role also includes medical day infusion patients, extending practice beyond surgical suites. Mount Sinai Hospital’s PACU supports more than 8,000 elective surgeries and 2,000 emergency cases annually, with specialties including Cardiology, Psychiatry, Endoscopy, Wasser Pain Blocks, and Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities:





- Provide patient- and family-centered pre-operative education
- Assess and support recovery after anesthesia and surgery
- Care for medical day care patients
- Share accurate handoffs and plans of care
- Participate in training and support nursing learners

Requirements:

- Current CNO registration in good standing
- CNO-approved Practical Nursing program graduate
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Acute-care surgical clinical experience preferred
- Effective communication, organization, and interprofessional collaboration skills
