Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic, patient-focused, and sales-oriented Ophthalmic Lens Counsellor to join our ophthalmology practice. In this role, you will be the dedicated guide for patients navigating cataract and refractive surgeries. You will act as the bridge between clinical diagnostics and patient lifestyle preferences, educating individuals on premium intraocular lens (IOL) options and private surgical packages.

The Ophthalmic Lens

Counsellor helps patients understand lens options and supports a smooth, informed selection process. The ideal candidate possesses an empathetic communication style, a solid sales aptitude, and meticulous attention to administrative details.

Responsibilities

- Conduct one-on-one consulting sessions with patients recommended for cataract surgery
- Explain optical concepts, surgical procedures, and premium vs. standard lens options (e.g., multifocal, toric, extended depth of focus) in accessible, patient-friendly terms
- Assess patient lifestyles, hobbies,



and visual goals to help them determine the best elective upgrades tailored to their needs
- Provide transparent pricing breakdowns, review financing options, and address patient anxieties or inquiries professionally
- Respond to patient questions with care
- Gather and record patient information accurately using EMR
- Coordinate with pharmaceutical companies and operating room teams to support timely, accurate handling of lens selections

Experience

- 1–2 years in patient care, premium optical sales, or medical coordinating roles
- Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology clinic is highly valued
- Pharmaceutical sales experience
- Familiarity with EMR systems

Pay: $25.00-$100.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
