Position Summary
We are looking for a passionate, patient-focused Optometrist (O.D.) to join our practice. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and deliver tailored vision care plans. You will have full clinical autonomy while benefiting from our fully equipped exam lanes and streamlined front-desk and diagnostic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive primary care vision assessments and ocular health exams for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat refractive errors, ocular diseases, and visual disorders.
- Prescribe ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents as appropriate.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and refer patients to ophthalmology specialists when necessary.
- Educate patients on preventative eye hygiene, vision maintenance, and proper contact lens care.
- Maintain accurate, timely Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in compliance with provincial regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with support staff and interdisciplinary health providers to deliver a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure: Active license and good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario (or applicable provincial regulatory body).
- Therapeutics: Authorized to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA).
- Strong clinical skills paired with excellent communication and patient care manners.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
Pay: $120.00-$180.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 per week
