Interline Wholesale Hardware is a leading supplier of high-quality hardware, tools, and building materials for local contractors, industrial accounts, and retail customers. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Order Desk Associate to join our close-knit team and keep our fulfillment pipeline running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Process Incoming Orders: Accurately input high-volume orders received via phone, email, walk-ins, and online portals into our point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management system.
- Support Contractors & Clients: Answer product questions regarding hardware specifications, availability, pricing, and lead times.
- Coordinate Fulfillment: Work closely with our warehouse and delivery drivers to ensure orders are picked, packed, and scheduled correctly.
- Resolve Issues: Proactively handle order discrepancies, shipping delays, or backorders while keeping the customer informed, and manage return authorizations efficiently.
Requirements
- Hardware Knowledge:
At least 1–2 years of experience in hardware retail, building supply, or a related industrial trade is highly preferred.
- Order Entry Experience: Proven track record in a fast-paced data entry, order desk, or customer service role.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computer systems; experience with inventory/POS software (Spire) and Microsoft Excel is a strong asset.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent phone etiquette and written communication skills—you can easily talk to a busy contractor on a job site.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to catch mismatched part numbers or quantities before they hit the warehouse floor.
