Shape high-voltage transmission design at WSP, evaluating routes and structures for overhead lines across Western Canada, with Edmonton preferred.

This intermediate engineering position supports overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines. You will develop designs, assess technical options, prepare bid packages, and contribute to project management. The work spans new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, replacements, and fiber optic additions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate routes and technical criteria for design merit
- Design and analyze transmission structures and lines
- Develop construction specifications and bid packages
- Apply high-voltage construction standards
- Identify project challenges and implement solutions

Requirements:

- Five to ten years overhead transmission design experience
- Experience with route selection and structure spotting
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Lite
- Skilled Engineering license, P.Eng., required
- Knowledge of routing, EPC projects, and line construction
