This Manager leads legal services within LHSC’s Risk and Privacy department. The position provides trusted advice on complex claims, regulatory requirements, contracts, liability, consent and capacity, disclosure, and professional regulation. It also directs department operations, develops teams, manages resources, and collaborates with executive leadership, insurers, external counsel, and internal stakeholders to support lawful, risk-informed outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise leadership on complex and high-risk legal matters
- Assess liability, compliance, and hospital legal risk
- Draft, review, interpret,



and advise on contracts
- Shape litigation strategies with external counsel and insurers
- Facilitate change management and department improvement initiatives

Requirements:

- Law degree and Ontario Bar admission required
- Valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Strong statutory interpretation, research, investigation, and case analysis skills
- Ability to manage competing files, deadlines, and priorities
- One to three years’ progressive leadership experience preferred
