This Staff Software Engineer will lead technical direction for a platform processing metrics, logs, and traces across hundreds of services. You will design architecture, deliver execution plans, and improve reliability, query performance, and cost. The position combines hands-on engineering with mentorship and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Balance telemetry reliability, query performance, and cost
- Deliver major system components and technical execution plans
- Manage monitoring, triage, playbooks, testing, and alerting
- Set code review and design standards for engineers
- Partner with product management, design, and analytics
Requirements:
- 8+ years developing backend systems at scale
- Track record with highly available distributed systems
- Experience using AWS, MySQL, Flink, and Kubernetes
- Ability to understand low-level idioms and large architectures
- High-quality coding and effective written communication skills
